Ms Sabrina Chan shared her insights on PGx trend in a recent webinar

Pharmacogenetics has become a hot topic in recent years, as it can potentially revolutionise how we approach healthcare. By understanding the role of genetics in drug response, healthcare providers can tailor treatments to individual patients, leading to more effective and efficient care.

Ms Sabrina Chan, Senior Executive Director of the Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, was invited to be one of the speakers at a recent webinar about pharmacogenetics organized by a group of CUHK biochemistry students on 11 March to share her insights on the global trend of PGX and the development of PGx in Hong Kong.

The webinar provided a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about PGx.

Dr Brian Chung, Chief Scientific Officer of Hong Kong Genome Institute (HKGI), kicked start the event by providing an overview of PGx, introducing the clinical application of PGx and case sharing. Followed by Dr Aldrin Yim, CEO of Codex Genetics, to talk about the transformation of PGx to standardized tests and challenges in PGx research.
